Domestic Infant Adoption
Many families want to adopt an infant as a way to build their family, and there are thousands of young women and men who choose to make an adoption plan for their unborn children. There may be any number of reasons why the parents make this choice, but what is consistent is that they want the very best for their children and feel that adoption can provide it. They entrust the raising of their children to loving, adoptive parents because they cannot parent their children at this time. Bethany has been bringing families together through infant adoption for more than 60 years.
What is infant adoption?
Infant adoption is the adoption of a newborn or very young child whose birthparent has made the difficult decision that she is unable to parent at that point. These parents love and wish that they could parent their children but feel that adoptive placement is the best decision for their children. The parents relinquish their rights voluntarily. The majority of birthparents select and meet the prospective adoptive parents and want some level of openness in their adoption, which refers to a level of contact after the placement.
